For children that are very young, extremely apprehensive, or have special needs and are unable to tolerate dental treatment using traditional methods, we offer outpatient general anesthesia at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital. During general anesthesia your child is completely asleep, as they would be for tonsillectomy or for the placement of ear tubes. This type of treatment is considered an outpatient visit, and the child leaves the hospital the same day.
For some patients we are able to provide in-office general anesthesia under the supervision of a nurse anesthetist.
If you have any questions regarding sedation, please call our office and our staff would be happy to answer those questions for you.
