Dental Exams and Cleanings for Children
In order for your child to maintain healthy teeth and gums, we recommend that each child be seen for a check up at least every 6 months. During this thorough biannual exam, Dr. Batra will check your child’s gums and teeth, monitor the progress and growth of the mouth and surrounding structures, and evaluate your child for any abnormalities of the oral cavity. Remember, periodic exams can help with early diagnosis and prevention of major problems such as dental cavities.
Your Questions Answered, and Early Orthodontic Intervention
At this time Dr. Batra will also go over any questions or concerns you may have regarding your child dental health, and can also talk to you if and when a need arises for possible orthodontic care.
Dental Cleanings and Fluoride for Children
The American Dental Association recommends children have their teeth cleaned once every six months and we agree, as good home care is a habit that children need to develop early. During their cleaning visit, the hygienist will clean, polish and apply fluoride to your child’s teeth. She will also review proper tooth brushing technique, and will share diet and other age-appropriate information.
Dental Cleanings can be Fun!
We make aim to make your child’s dental experience as fun as possible, and as such we let children pick out their favorite TV show to watch during their cleaning. At the end of the appointment the child gets to pick a toothbrush, a sticker and a prize from the treasure box. Our goal is to make sure each child has the best experience possible and learns that going to the dentist can really be fun!
